SI Yachts, one of the largest and most successful boat dealers and yacht brokerage firms in the Northeast, has been acquired by Germain Motor Company. Originally called Staten Island Yacht Sales before expanding into other markets, SI Yachts was founded in 1964 by Frank Bongiorno. Frank, who established the company as the longest operating Viking Yachts dealer in the world, as well as revitalized Staten Island Marina, will retire after more than 60 years in the marine industry. SI Yachts is a new boat dealer for premium brands such as Viking, Princess, Absolute, Prestige, Pardo Yachts, and Valhalla Boatworks. The company has expanded over the years with offices in Jupiter, Florida, Newport, Rhode Island, Old Saybrook, Connecticut, and five locations throughout New York.
