For ease of handling, the 40 has a self-tacking jiband a shorter boom. For more performance, the 40 has a large foretriangle offering a greater choice of foresails anda high-aspect mainsail, enabling use of less disturbed air higher up.On deck, space and comfort are combined with a new aft cockpit layout like that of the 42. This space is open to the sea, with a dining table to port that can accommodate up to twelve guests, a relaxation area on the same side, and a seat on the aft crossbeam. The ergonomic helm station can be accessed from the cockpit or the deck, affording continuous communication between the helmsmanand the rest of the crew. The skirts are wide, with a large platform, to enjoy the sea with feet in the water as well as to facilitate access to the dinghy and enable an easy and safe climb aboard.Below decks, elegance and natural light are the watchwords!
